STAGE STARS is a small niche business hurt from the popularity of online music and the almost elimination of music stores .
The company continues to have a CD business for teachers and students because of the recording quality that only professionals can hear.
Every Broadway song has been re-recorded as a vocal track or accompaniment track.
PROBLEM:
Observing how Users shop for either vocal tracks or the accompaniment tracks combined with customer service comments influenced this redesign.
The goal to remove friction, provide clarity in searching for an album or song, and support an increase in revenue.
Reviewing the sales what stood out was Users like to only buy the songs they are rehearsing.
The company still hold lots of inventory and pays for storage for the cd’s.
Client wanted to provide 2 ways to search and shop for individual songs have it be searchable by album cover and organized Alphabetically.
Other issue is older Users were getting confused with the digital download of the CD verses the purchase of the actual CD.
SOLUTION:
Catalog all the images of the albums that send users to a page where they have 3 options to buy.
1. download the entire album on demand
2. purchase the physical CD
3. purchase just a vocal or accompaniment track.
The second navigation would also lead the user to the page with the 3 options to buy, but from clicking on a Catalog page of the titles alphabetically sorted.
A separate CD call out in the navigation bar would direct older customers or customers looking specifically for a CD reducing confused if they are buying a CD or the download and would also support the sell off of CD stock.
